We are an older, active couple who have hosted multiple sitters at our home for weeks at a time, and have testimonials for us/house/dogs. We are quiet, neat, non-smokers. I keep a small garden and it will need watering depending on weather. Our dogs are NOT destructive of either interiors or gardens.
Ideally, we are looking to do a house exchange for next June 2027 - end of sept. 2027 in the southern Maine to Rhode Island corridor. We are also open to just an Aug/Sept exchange. I am former Bostonian, so know the area.
Our neighborhood is 20 minutes out of downtown Charleston. It is quiet, safe, beautiful, has walking trails, ponds (with alligators) and community pool. We are close to beaches -20 mins., grocery store, multiple restaurants.
We own a 3-bed/3-bath single family detached home. Wifi is good. Neighbors are great. Neighborhood is safe and convenient. We have screen porch and fenced back yard.
Palm trees, ponds, walking trails right outside the door. We are 20 mins from downtown Charleston, beaches, close to music, restaurants, museums, farmer's markets and multiple denominations of churches.
Depending on if we take the dogs with us or not, there may be dog walking and dog care - I have an entire manual as we have done this before. Water garden, keep house neat, collect mail, put out garbage and recycling in the back of the house (convenient!), option for composting.

Layla is an older Aussie who wants to be in the room with you, but, doesn't want to be petted. She does want to play frisbee however! She is still an athlete, and 5 mins of flying after frisbees makes her happy. She eats twice a day, will happily protect you from the UPS man, Amazon delivery etc.
Ash is a rescue whom we have had since she was 11 months old, but, her early start in a shelter or two has affected her ability to correctly greet/play with other dogs, other than Layla. She is people oriented, and loves attention! She has been in training for forever, to be less reactive to other dogs, we basically walk her at quiet times, and have several techniques, mostly avoidance to keep her calm. Other sitters have not had an issue with her, she seems to be most protective of me.
She loves to be in the back yard, and she loves pettings.
