I’m a 40-year-old psychologist from Spain, and one of the main reasons for my trip to Amsterdam is to improve my English while experiencing everyday life in the city.

I have visited Amsterdam briefly as a tourist before, but I would now love to get to know the city from a more local perspective — not just seeing the typical tourist sights, but experiencing what daily life there is really like. I’m particularly interested in Amsterdam’s very international and multicultural environment, where English is widely spoken and people from all over the world live and work together.

I’m a calm, respectful and responsible person, and I’m naturally very meticulous when it comes to cleanliness, order and taking care of a home. I’m someone who treats other people’s spaces with a great deal of respect and attention, and I genuinely enjoy keeping things clean, organised and well looked after.

I’m quiet and considerate, but also friendly and easy-going. I’m reliable, independent and prudent, and I understand how important it is for homeowners to feel completely comfortable leaving their home and pets in someone else’s care.

As a psychologist, I’m used to being attentive, observant and responsible, and I value clear communication and respecting other people’s routines and boundaries.

I would be very happy to look after a home as if it were my own, keeping everything clean and in order, taking care of any plants or other responsibilities, and of course giving pets plenty of attention and affection if needed.

For me, house sitting would be a wonderful way to combine both things I’m looking for: improving my English through real everyday interaction and getting to know Amsterdam beyond the experience of a short tourist visit, while at the same time being a trustworthy and considerate presence in someone’s home.

I have been living independently in rented homes for around 18 years, so I’m very used to taking excellent care of a home, keeping it clean and organised, and treating the property I live in with great respect. I’m responsible, attentive to detail and very careful with other people’s belongings and spaces.

I also have many years of experience being around dogs, as my parents have had a dog as part of our family life for many years. I’m very comfortable with dogs and genuinely enjoy their company. I’m attentive to their routines and needs and would be very happy to give a pet the same care, attention and affection I would give to my own.

Although I haven’t previously worked professionally as a house sitter or pet sitter, I believe my long experience living independently and caring for rented homes has given me a strong sense of responsibility when it comes to looking after a property. I’m also very happy to follow each homeowner’s specific instructions and routines.
