About
I am originally from Italy and in I used to live in Devon (Plymouth) while studying marine biology; I am passionate about wildlife, with a special interest for ecosystems like kelp forests and atlantic rainforests. I worked a lot with research both during my bachelor and in my job as a lab technician. On the other side I have 10 years of barista experience and I was involved with community projects on both local and national scale such as the Woodland Trust; this, beyond telling me that communication is the other half of science, made me into a social bee.
More recently, I have been travelling through Australia and South East Asia, while volunteering with nature regeneration projects, diving and contributing to marine research. I spent some months diving in Tasmania and truly loved the wilderness and peace, therefore I can see myself appreciating Ireland in a similar way..!
I am naturally a curious person, as an Italian I love cooking, especially baking bread, making hummus, and fermenting. As a barista, I also love brewing coffee, so I am hitting some of the stereotypes! Lately I have been obsessed with basque cheesecakes. At the same time, I am far from traditional, I am open-minded and always up for a challenge and a debate.
I have basics gardening knowledge and I love to get my hands dirty; back in Plymouth I used to share an allotment with friends, I found out there are so many things you can make with beetroot! While in Australia I helped out with things ranging from harvesting fruits and veggies to looking after alpacas and working with the primary steps of alpaca whool processing.
Experience with pets & homes
I have experience looking after my friends' dogs for some weeks.
