About

I'm Nadège, 46, French, living in rural Andalusia. Animals have been part of my life since I was a child, and I'd rather spend my evenings with a cat on my lap than almost anywhere else.

My work is fully remote, so it goes wherever I do.

Housesitting lets me discover new parts of Spain and Europe, keep working normally, and spend my days with animals rather than alone in front of a screen.

It also means I'm home during the day, not out from morning to evening, which I think matters more than anything else for the animals I look after.

At 46 I've had enough life behind me to stay calm when something unexpected happens. A vet at 2am isn't a drama, it's just something you handle. I'm tidy, I keep to routines, and I'd return a home the way I found it.

I speak French, Spanish and English, and I'm always happy to have a video call before anything is agreed.

Experience with pets & homes

I've looked after friends' and family's dogs and cats for years, from short weekends to longer stays, including feeding routines, daily walks and lots of cuddles!

Most recently, three abandoned kittens landed in my hands, a few weeks old and too small to eat on their own. Bottle feeding four times a day, nights included, weighing them, watching for anything going wrong. Nobody trained me. I read, I asked, I learned fast. They were weaned yesterday and all three are doing beautifully. I can share photos, I've made a lot! 😻

I've also done WWOOFing in France, which meant living in someone else's home, respecting their routines and their space, and being useful without being told twice.

On homes: I've lived in rural houses with gardens in Andalusia for several years, so plants in high summer, water and power cuts and rural quirks are familiar to me.

I have my own car, so I'm not dependent on yours for the vet or the shops.

This would be my first formal housesit, so I don't have sitter references yet. What I can offer instead is a video call, and the fact that I take commitments seriously enough to say that plainly rather than hope you don't ask.
